See the links above for more information about our equipment, technology and treatment results.

The photos below show leaves immediately after treatment, the objective being to wilt the green leaves (not incinerate them).  Thumb prints should be visible after pressing a treated leaf between thumb and forefinger.

Watch for our newsletter, where we will be covering many aspects of using our equipment, upcoming innovations, and principles and techniques of thermal vegetation management and flaming for weed control.

We also want to get feedback about your weed control needs and your experiences with and questions about using thermal methods!

Sunburst Leads the Way - "WetIR is Better"™

For well over a decade, Sunburst, Inc. has been developing and testing superior thermal vegetation management technology, equipment, and pioneering methods of applications in modernized flaming for weed control in a wide range of settings.  Our innovative products are excellent for reducing reliance on herbicide use and other more costly or less effective alternatives.  Our equipment fits perfectly in the arsenal of tools for integrated vegetation management (IVM) programs.

The Sunburst difference is our patented technology (U.S. Patent #6,363,654) and durable, carefully designed and engineered equipment that provide a distinctly more effective option in flaming for weed control.   Our equipment applies water at ambient temperature followed by heat in several forms within an enclosed housing in a manner that makes it more effective, efficient and economical than open other types of thermal weed control equipment such as open flamers, hot foam and steam.

Commercial Models

We currently have two standard commercial models available:

The Push Cart is for small-scale applications; the Wagon is larger and pulled by hand (inquire about modifications for towing behind an ATV or similar vehicle).  Our carefully engineered and tested small and mid-size models are powerful and effective.

Both configurations come with a Sunburst Thermal Deck and mounting carriage, hand-pressurized water tank, squeeze trigger activated water spray, throttle-controlled flame with pilot light, propane pressure regulator and hosing.  Supply your own standard propane tank due to shipping and re-sale restrictions.

See the Line of Equipment page for further information.

for large-scale applications ranging from roadsides, railroads, blueberry fields, orchards, water canal rights-of-way, and wetlands.

Mounting configurations for these have ranged from rear-mounted three-point hitch, articulated boom, hi-rail trucks with independently operating multiple units, and retroffitted railroad ballast regulator.
bed crops, row crops
Other models suitable for various agricultural crops and methods
are currently under research, design and development.
